The scene represents what Aeris is to Cloud, the fragile flower that needs protection and the warm light that nurtures. It is under the influences of Aeris that Cloud finally emerges as a warrior and hero.

Every part of the figure is artistically constructed to the most life-like degree. Just look at the arrangements of the flower petals by Cloud's foot, the resolute expression on the hero's face and the semi-transparent material that forms the columns of light.
